Katie MacLeod is the mother of 3-year-old William and 6-month-old Mary. She lives in Ramona with her children and husband where she has a photography business, Candids By Katie www.candidsbykatie.com .

Volunteer Involvement: I have organized a number of charity events including those designed to sponsor Meals on Wheels, Caregivers Kits for victims of HIV/AIDS in Africa and Brother Benno's reading program.
Profession: I am a photographer that specializes in families and children. I also work one day per week as an elementary school counselor.
Education: I have a bachelors degree in both Cultural Anthropology and Spanish from UCSB and a Masters of Social Work from SDSU. I also have extensive training in the field of photography.
Children: One beautiful boy named William who is 3. And a beautiful baby daughter named Mary who is 6 months old.

Inspiration:

People who are great friends, that go out of their way to help others. They inspire me to be better.

If you could teach your kids one thing and have it impact them, what would it be?

I would teach them to maintain their freedom by not getting tied down by choices that they might later regret.

How do you measure success?

By the happiness of my family.

Greatest Accomplishment:

Raising a nice child, being a good wife and keeping the family smiling.

Proudest Moment:

My proudest moments are when my son shows good manners! Saying please and thank you without being prompted and being kind and sharing with his friends.

Biggest Challenge:

Like all moms - finding the time to be a great mom, a good wife and still maintain my sanity!!

Wildest Dream:

To own a vacation home on a beautiful tropical beach somewhere.

Sweeping up cut hair at a hair salon. Not fun.

To be a primatologist and have my own chimpanzees.

Playing at the beach with my husband and son. Perfect.

Wanting to provide families with what I think each of us deserves: Beautiful portraits that don't cost a fortune. That and wanting to stay home with my son.

Trying to fit in all the work while your child is asleep.
