New Born Baby Shopping List

â–¡ 1 part patience

â–¡ 2 boxes of Dreft or Baby All (liquids are fine)

â–¡ 3 parts flexibility

â–¡ 4 parts humor

â–¡ Antibacterial soap for all sinks

â–¡ Bounce Free Dryer Sheets

 

BATH NEEDS

â–¡ 8-10 thick Terry wash cloths (Target has the best buy- Cherokee or Baby Trend)

â–¡ 3 hooded bath towels- thick terry cloths are best

â–¡ bath sponge (formed, baby rests on top of it- needed for sponge bathing)

â–¡ all-in-one baby wash

â–¡ baby lotion

â–¡ plastic tub

 

CHANGING AREA NEEDS

â–¡ unscented wipes (2 or 3 refills)

â–¡ 3 Pampers Swaddlers Newborn Diapers (yellow package)

â–¡ Desitin or Balmex

â–¡ Aquaphor

â–¡ changing pad (thick foam, plastic covered with curved sides)

â–¡ 2 changing pad covers- usually terry cloth

â–¡ baby gas drops

â–¡ baby saline nose drops

â–¡ infant Tylenol

â–¡ Q-Tips

â–¡ small cotton balls

â–¡ 1 dozen cloth diapers (Gerber diaper service style- Target or Babies R Us)

â–¡ baby nail set with hair brush

â–¡ Diaper Genie or Diaper Champ

Boys Only

â–¡ 2 tubes of polysporin

â–¡ 2 boxes of individually wrapped 4X4 gauze pads

 

IMMEDIATE LAYETTE NEEDS

â–¡ 1 package of snap t-shirts (small)

â–¡ 1 package of small onesies

â–¡ 4 to 6 pairs of booties with wide bands at the top (Target has the best buy)

â–¡ 6 gowns with hand covers (For smaller babies- Gerber brand with front snaps.)

â–¡ 3 footed snap pajamas

â–¡ 6 swaddler receiving blankets (usually comes in package of 4)

â–¡ 5 to 6 large cotton receiving blankets (Carter’s, Gap, or Gymboree are best.)

â–¡ 2 thermal/fleece blankets for winter

â–¡ 3 dozen hangers

Also, Crib with mattress pad and car seat.

Grits or Oatmeal
