Redirecting Children's Behavior

Boy with blocksEnhance your parenting skills through this powerful and practical 3-week course that teaches effective parenting skills in a supportive, loving and nonjudgmental atmosphere.

Tuesdays, September 9th-30th, 6:30pm - 9:00pm. Learn the four principles of why children misbehave and how to nurture self-sufficient, responsible and self-confident children by using techniques that build mutual respect, create positive motivational messages, prevent sibling rivalry and minimize power struggles.

This course is taught by supportive and experienced instructor, Jackie Hartmann.

The cost is $200/member family, $395/nonmember family.  Fee does not include textbook and/or workbook, which are $30.

Nurturing Your Child's Spirit... Strategically

Yoga Classes Designed for New and Expectant Mothers

Penatal Yoga

Prepare for labor and delivery, relieve lower back pain, improve digestion, learn breathing and meditation techniques for relaxation during birth, improve your circulatory system and reduce swelling in your limbs.  (NOTE: A Medical Clearance Form must be signed and completed by your physician before attending prenatal yoga.) 

 

Mommy and Me Yoga

This class will teach breathing techniques and yoga postures.  It includes a brief meditation time to help relieve lower back pain and stress, which will help to cultivate better sleep as well as a balanced life with your baby.  Moms may join the class when baby is two months of age until the baby begins to crawl.  Bring a yoga mat and a blanket.

Registration is required for either class.  Each class costs $12 per person to attend.

Joy of Parenting -- Four Week Course

"What's the secret to a joyful family?"  It's really no secret, simply thing about what it takes to cook your favorite dish.  Too much of one ingredient can overpower and ultimately ruin it.  Too little of another can leave the dish flavorless and unfulfilling.  But when you get the right balance of ingredients and you know when to use them, the result is a delicious and satisfying meal.  When it comes to creating joyful families, each family will have its own recipe and distinct flavor.  However, the one key ingredient that is absolutely essential to a joyful family is love.  Love is where joy comes from.  It's where caring, respect and even responsibility come from.  When you learn to infuse love into everything you do, including discipline, you'll be cooking up the family of your dreams.  "The Joy of Parenting" will give you tools on how to do just that.  Taught by founder/author Susie Walton.  The cost is $225 per person, $350 per couple, $150 for RCB grads.

Basic Training for New Dads - The First Year

Digital Photo Organization

Do you currently have photos sitting on your cell phone, camera, iPad and Instagram?  Lack an organized system for managing and storing your images?  Help is here!  This hands-on workshop conducted by Cori Nichols, a San Diego custom photographer who specializes in fresh modern portraiture and special event photography, will show you how to organize your images so that you can quickly and easily share them using an organizational program.  Bring your laptop, your camera and other photo-capturing devices with cords to connect your laptop and a back up drive (optional).  This event is free for Parent Connection members, $10 for nonmembers.  Registration is required!

How to Start a Playgroup

Tummy to Play Everyday for Infants Introductory Class for First Timers
