This class for 3 to 6 year old children and their parents, helps the entire family get ready for the new baby. Special stories and a safety discussion focuses on the child’s new role.

Refresher Childbirth Class
A review for parents who have previously taken a childbirth course. Labor, birth, breathing practice and updates about medications and hospital procedures are included.

Grandparenting Today
Come Celebrate Your New Role!
Grandparents are a link between generations.
This class will provide information to help parents transition to grandparents.
Topics discussed include:
Changes in childbirth over the last few decades
Changes in infant care
Communication bewteen parents and grandparents
Role of grandparents in child’s life
Safety issues
Ways to bond with your grandchild

Prenatal Yoga & Aquatics
A safe and effective workout for women who are more than twelve weeks pregnant that want to stay active and fit during pregnancy. Medical clearance and preregistration is required.
Both classes are held at the Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine, Shiley Sports and Health Center. The cost is $15/class or $70/month. To register, call the Fitness Center at Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine at 858-554-4775.

Breastfeeding Help and Support
A Scripps Health Lactation Educator or Consultant is available to offer practical suggestions and individualized breastfeeding instruction. Bring your baby and join other mothers for an informal discussion of your breastfeeding concerns. No preregistration is needed and there is no charge. A selection of breast pumps, bras, and accessories are available for you to pruchase or rent during any of our support groups throughout the county.
